For the Vermilion River (Illinois Basin)...including Leonore...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River from Starved Rock Lock and Dam downstream to confluence with Big Bureau Creek, including the La Salle gauge. * WHEN...From late tonight until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Lower parking lot at Starved Rock State Park is inundated east of La Salle. High water levels begin to impact shipping interests along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 19.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue rising to a crest of 23.8 feet early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Flooding of roads and low lying areas is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 657 PM CDT, Radar rain estimates indicate that between 1.75 and 3.00 inches of rain has fallen across portions of northeast Ogle and northwest DeKalb counties since this afternoon. A line of thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall with rates in excess of 1 inch per hour will move across this area through about 830 PM, which will produce some flooding across this area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
