Flood Watch issued April 16 at 1:08AM CDT until April 16 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI

Effective: Thu April 16, 2026, 1:08 AM
Expires: Thu April 16, 2026, 9:15 AM

...FLOOD WATCH EXTENDED IN SOUTHEASTERN AREAS... Additional shower and storm development is forecast through the overnight hours, with activity gradually tapering after sunrise this morning. Expecting that additional rainfall totals will remain at or below a half inch in many locations, though localized additional rainfall totals between 1-2 inches are possible in locations impacted by the heaviest thunderstorms and any repeated redevelopment. Given already saturated conditions, particularly over the southeast half of the region after last night's storms, this additional rainfall will lead to quick runoff and additional urban/small stream & potential flash flooding impacts. With thunderstorm potential most favored over far south-central and southeastern Wisconsin, the Flood Watch has thus been extended until 1 PM this afternoon from Rock, Jefferson, Washington, and all counties south and east to the Illinois border. Flood Watch remains in effect through 7 AM in areas further north and west. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Wisconsin, including the following counties, in south central Wisconsin, Rock. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
