There is widespread flooding of agricultural land. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 PM CDT Thursday was 16.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.2 feet early tomorrow afternoon. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has indicated that the Calendonia-Lewiston Levee along the Wisconsin River may become compromised as the river levels rise. If this takes place, a rapid inundation of water is expected along the south and west side of the river. The City of Portage is not anticipated to be impacted by a potential compromise of the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee. * WHERE...A portion of south central Wisconsin, including the following counties, Columbia and Sauk along the south and west side of the Wisconsin River. Areas affected include, but are not limited to the Pine Island State Wildlife Area and portions of Highway 33.
