Lake effect snow showers will persist over portions of northeastern Porter County this afternoon. With very cold temperatures, the light and fluffy nature of snowfall will result in snow-coated roads, sharply-reduced visibilities, and slick travel conditions, particularly east of Chesterton. Motorists should use caution if traveling across northeast Porter County. Slow down in snow, add extra stopping distance, and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
