A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Nearshore Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Calumet Harbor... Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City... Open Waters from Wilmette Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid Lake... At 700 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of producing a northerly wind shift with gusts to around 25 knots. This gust front was located along a line extending from 28 nm east of Winthrop Harbor to 7 nm northwest of Wilmette Harbor, moving southeast at 25 knots. Several land and marine based weather stations have recorded wind gusts up to 25 knots.

Mariners can expect gusty northerly winds to around 25 knots and locally higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor until this outflow passes.
