Special Weather Statement issued December 31 at 9:45AM CST by NWS Green Bay WI

Effective: Wed December 31, 2025, 9:45 AM
Expires: Wed December 31, 2025, 1:00 PM

Light to moderate snow will continue across the area into early this afternoon. Overall, snow amounts will be an inch or less in most areas, but with the cold temperatures, the snow will lead to slippery conditions on less traveled and untreated roads. Visibility may be reduced to less than an mile at times. Exercise caution when driving by increasing your following distance and allowing extra time to reach your destination. Snow will begin to taper off from north to south this afternoon. Some light lake effect snow showers will linger this evening over far northern Wisconsin.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
