Special Weather Statement issued February 8 at 4:44AM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

Effective: Sun February 8, 2026, 4:44 AM
Expires: Sun February 8, 2026, 9:00 AM

Patchy to dense fog continues to push to the north across portions of the Coastal Plains this morning based on surface observations and Night-Time Microphysics satellite imagery. Sooner than later, areas along and east of a La Grange to Gonzales to Karnes City line are likely to experience reduced visibilities of a few miles down to 1/2 mile. Can't rule out a few places going down to 1/4 mile briefly. Use low beam headlights and leave extra space between you the vehicle ahead of you. Visibility will improve by 9 AM CST this morning.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
