Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing high rainfall rates which could quickly lead to flooding across the area. Be especially cautious as creeks, streams, and rivers may rise out of their banks quickly. At 125 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Palmeto State Park to 7 miles northwest of Nordheim to Pawnee. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Cuero, Gonzales, Yoakum, Kenedy, Karnes City, Hallettsville, Yorktown, Shiner, Moulton, Kosciusko, Nixon, Runge, Smiley, Nordheim, Cestohowa, Cheapside, Fordtran, Hochheim, Palmeto State Park, and Pandora.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
