Flood Watch issued October 25 at 10:18AM CDT until October 26 at 5:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

Effective: Sat October 25, 2025, 10:18 AM
Expires: Sun October 26, 2025, 3:00 AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Austin, Bolivar Peninsula, Brazoria Islands, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Coastal Matagorda, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston Island, Grimes, Houston, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Inland Matagorda, Madison, Matagorda Islands, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts from this morning's round of strong to severe thunderstorms are mainly in the 1-3" range. Rainfall rates in the strongest storms were as much as 3-4" per hour, which did lead to localized instances of street flooding. The next round of storms is expected to push through Southeast Texas later this afternoon and into the evening hours. This timing based on the latest model guidance is a bit quicker than previously anticipated, so the Flood Watch will likely be cancelled earlier than the current scheduled expiration time. Still anticipating widespread 2-4" amounts with isolated totals up to 4-6" between this morning's storms and the storms later today. There is potential for an axis of heavy rain later today with totals as high as 2-3". A brief lull in activity will persist through this morning and into the afternoon until the next round of storms develop. Areas that received closer to 2-3" of rain this morning will see this afternoon's rainfall runoff much quicker. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
