Strong winds expected today. What: Strong winds with gusts of 90 km/h and potentially in excess of 100 km/h for areas along the Lake Ontario shore. When: Beginning this afternoon and easing late this afternoon or early this evening. Additional information: Showers and the risk of thunderstorms will push into the region this morning. The showers or thunderstorms will have the potential to generate strong wind gusts near 70 km/h. A cold front is then expected to push through the region this afternoon. The passage of the cold front may lead to another wave of strong winds with gusts up to 90 km/h and potentially in excess of 100 km/h for areas along the Lake Ontario shore. The winds will ease from west to east this evening. ### Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Some property damage is possible.
