Effective: Tue July 28, 2026, 1:32 AM
Expires: Tue July 28, 2026, 9:45 AM

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central New York, including the following county, Sullivan and northeast Pennsylvania, including the following county, Pike. * WHEN...From 11 AM EDT this morning through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected to move over the area starting this morning through Wednesday. Rainfall rates could exceed 1-2 inches per hour with the heaviest downpours. Even though this area has been somewhat dry recently, multiple rounds of heavy downpours could cause urban flash flooding and/or small streams and creeks to flow out of their banks. Two day rainfall totals are expected to be in the 2-3 inch range, with 3-6 inches possible in portions of the Catskills if upslope enhancement matches up with storms producing heavy downpours. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
