* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (2.9 to 13.0 feet Mean Lower Low Water) around the evening high tides. * WHERE...Eastern Essex MA, Suffolk MA, Eastern Norfolk MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Barnstable MA and Dukes MA Counties. * WHEN...From 9 PM EDT this evening through late Monday night. The evening high tide periods tonight, Sunday night and Monday night are of the greatest concern. * IMPACTS...Shallow pockets of flooding less than one foot deep affects the lowest lying areas along the coast, including Morrissey Boulevard in Boston. Most roads remain passable. Flooding up to one foot deep affects coastal roads on the North Shore from Salem to Gloucester and Newburyport. Rough surf will cause flooding on some coastal roads around the time of high tide due to splashover.

Beach Hazards Statement issued June 13 at 2:50AM EDT until June 13 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Gray ME
Effective: Sat June 13, 2026, 2:50 AM
Expires: Sat June 13, 2026, 8:00 PM
* WHAT...Warm air temperatures in the 80s to low 90s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60. * WHERE...In Maine, Coastal York, Coastal Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Coastal Waldo Counties. In New Hampshire, Coastal Rockingham County. * WHEN...From 8 AM EDT this morning through this evening. * IMPACTS...The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. When the water temperature is below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could lose dexterity within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone on boats or paddlecraft should use extreme caution to avoid this threat.
A Beach Hazards Statement is issued on days when a significant number of boats and paddlecraft are expected to be out on the water and when warm air temperatures may cause people to underestimate the danger of the cold water. Paddle smart from the start. Always wear your life jacket. Be aware of wind conditions, tides, and localized currents. All boaters and paddlers are highly encouraged to contact the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary or U.S. Power Squadrons at https://cgaux.org/vsc/ to receive a FREE vessel check. This is a convenient, no consequence way to ensure your vessel is outfitted with all required safety equipment. Additionally, please label your paddlecraft with your contact information (IF FOUND Sticker) in the event it is found adrift on the water.
