Northeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina... * Until 1045 PM EDT. * At 742 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Edneyville. Most of this area has already received 2 inches or more of rainfall in the last 90 minutes, and streams along Clear Creek are elevated. Additional inbound rainfall will result in worsening of conditions, and isolated flash flooding may develop suddenly. Affected roadways may include Terrys Gap Rd, Rhodes Rd, and Green Mountain Rd.

Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 615 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.7 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Edneyville. - Locations along and near Clear Creek, northwest of Edneyville and north of Hwy 64, may already be experiencing nuisance flooding in poor drainage areas and low-water crossings.
