* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Dare and Hyde. * WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 818 AM EDT, emergency management reported water still on roadways of portions of NC12 from heavy rain in the advisory area due to multiple days of thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area through today. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Frisco, Southern Shores, Nags Head, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Buxton, Manteo, Colington, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Hatteras Island Fishing Pier, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and Hatteras Ferry Terminal. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Additionally, some tree damage is possible due to the very saturated soils. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A stalled front and a very moist airmass over eastern North Carolina will continue to support periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms with excessive rainfall rates.
