Special Weather Statement issued March 26 at 7:36AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC

Effective: Thu March 26, 2026, 7:36 AM
Expires: Thu March 26, 2026, 10:00 AM

Areas of fog will continue to impact portions of Southeast Georgia through mid-morning. The fog will be locally dense with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile or less at times. The most significant fog will occur over parts of Tattnall, Long and McIntosh Counties. The nature of the fog is such that visibilities will vary greatly over short distances with the risk for locally dense fog being the greatest near bodies of water and other low-lying areas such as marshes, swamps and large ditches. Motorists should remain alert for these conditions this morning.

If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
