The river will then remain in moderate flood through at least the remainder of this week. For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Moderate flooding is forecast. The next statement will be issued Tuesday morning at 1115 AM EDT. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...St Johns River near Astor. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 3.0 feet, Water approaches or may enter lowest homes on or near Wildhog Road and nearby canals. * WHAT...A developing southward flowing longshore current and a Moderate risk of rip currents expected. * WHERE...The beaches of Volusia and north Brevard counties. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...North winds increasing 15 to 20 mph will produce a longshore current which flows parallel to the coastline. These currents can push swimmers off the sand bar and into deeper water and possibly into a rip current.
