* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Florida, including the following counties, Hernando and Pasco. * WHEN...Until 1045 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 739 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Spring Hill, Brooksville, South Brooksville, North Brooksville, Hill n Dale, Hernando County Airport, Garden Grove and Spring Lake. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

At 814 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Switzerland to near Sparr. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. Additional storms were forming over central Duval county moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts around 40 mph, half inch hail, and minor flooding due to heavy rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Minor flooding due to heavy rainfall is possible. Locations impacted include... Jacksonville, Ocala, Palatka, Orange Park, Green Cove Springs, Interlachen, Melrose, Mandarin, Fruit Cove, and Fort McCoy.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
