What and when: - Total rainfall amounts near 150 to 250 mm with locally higher amounts reaching 300 mm from Sunday to Wednesday morning. - Periods of heavy rain continue Wednesday afternoon to Friday Impacts: - Prolonged heavy rain on snow combined with mountain snow melt could lead to very enhanced responses in river systems and the potential for flooding. - Extensive water pooling on roads and washouts possible. - Enhanced risk of landslides due to saturation of the ground. Remark: An atmospheric river will remain over the South Coast of B.C. through Friday. With freezing levels near 2000 to 3000 metres, snowmelt from higher elevations may increase the impacts associated with this rainfall event. Rain will intensify this evening and briefly eases Wednesday morning. Periods of moderate to heavy rain will continue Wednesday afternoon to Friday under the influence of of the atmospheric river.
