Service Notice – October 2025: The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) CAP Service undergoes changes from time to time as the business of alerting evolves. For 2025, changes are expected to include... 1) ECCC's initiative to upgrade the presentation of alerts into Colour-Coded Weather Alerts is tentatively set for deployment November 26, 2025. Data changes will appear in CAP following this deployment, 2) a new Coastal Flooding Statement has been created and could be issued for the same locations as the Coastal Flooding Warning, 3) more adjustments to the locations used for the coastal flooding alerts, 4) new Public locations around Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, 5) ECCC's initiative to introduce free-form polygons to represent the true threat area of a weather hazard continues, there will be changes coming to CAP and 6) other minor improvements and corrections. When: Friday morning till Saturday morning Where: Highway 3 (Near Kootenay Pass) Additional information: A band of snow is expected to establish itself over Highway 3 starting Friday morning and will bring snowfall amounts of up to 15 cm on Friday near Kootenay Pass. An additional 10-15 cm near the pass is expected overnight with the snow tapering off Saturday morning as the snow turns to rain showers. ### Visibility will likely be reduced at times.
