At 4:40 p.m. MST (5:40 p.m. MDT), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. A line of severe thunderstorms is located near the US/Canada border on Highway 93 near Roosville and is moving to the northwest at 30 km/h. The following communities will be impacted by this severe thunderstorm soon: - Grasmere - Elko ### Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Road conditions are available at https://www.drivebc.ca/.

Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
