* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following areas, Coastal Broward County, Coastal Miami Dade County, Coastal Palm Beach County, Metro Broward County, Metro Palm Beach County and Metropolitan Miami Dade. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of urban and poor drainage locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are expected today, with locally higher amounts of 3-5 inches possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Rip Current Statement issued April 8 at 12:09AM EDT until April 10 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Miami FL

Effective: Wed April 8, 2026, 12:09 AM
Expires: Wed April 8, 2026, 4:00 PM

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Coastal Broward County and Coastal Miami Dade County. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Coastal Flood Statement issued April 8 at 4:21AM EDT until April 9 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Key West FL

Effective: Wed April 8, 2026, 4:21 AM
Expires: Wed April 8, 2026, 12:30 PM

* WHAT...Minor saltwater flooding. * WHERE...Upper and Middle Florida Keys. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots is likely. Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Motorists should remember that persistent puddles around the times of high tide are almost certain to contain a mix of saltwater. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong to gale force winds north of the Florida Keys are generating enhanced swell along the western coastline of Florida. The swell, in turn, is causing elevated waters along the Middle and Upper Keys.

Do not drive through flooded roadways.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
