As a cold front crosses the region this evening, rain is forecast to change to snow. Up to an inch or so of accumulation is expected through midnight. Temperatures will fall into the 20s by that time as well. Any untreated roads, especially those with lingering moisture, may become slick from ice and accumulating snow. This is especially true for bridges and overpasses. Use caution when driving later this evening after the changeover to snow. Plan on extra time to reach your destination. If you encounter icy roads, slow down and increase the distance between your vehicle and those that surround yours. Also, be careful walking outdoors tonight as icy patches on sidewalks and other surfaces are likely.
