Red Flag Warning issued March 27 at 9:49PM CDT until March 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Memphis TN

Effective: Fri March 27, 2026, 9:49 PM
Expires: Sat March 28, 2026, 5:00 AM

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY ON SATURDAY... * WIND...Northeast 10 to 20 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of a dry airmass and dry fuels will result in critical fire weather conditions. Wildfires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should not be attempted.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Red Flag Warning issued March 27 at 7:02PM CDT until March 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Jackson MS

Effective: Fri March 27, 2026, 7:02 PM
Expires: Sat March 28, 2026, 7:00 AM

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY SATURDAY... * WIND...Northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of a dry airmass, dry fuels and strong northerly winds will result in critical fire weather conditions. Wildfires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning should not be attempted.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds and low relative humidity will create explosive fire growth potential.

Special Weather Statement issued March 27 at 2:24PM CDT by NWS Little Rock AR

Effective: Fri March 27, 2026, 2:24 PM
Expires: Sat March 28, 2026, 7:00 PM

Widespread elevated to near critical fire danger is anticipated Saturday afternoon across the region. Afternoon relative humidities dipping into the 15-25% range combined with very dry fuels are the main concerns. While winds are not anticipated to exceed 10-15 mph, the very dry conditions and fuels will make it possible for wildfires to ignite and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. If a wildfire is observed, report it by dialing 911 or by contacting the Arkansas Department of Agriculture at (800) 468-8834.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
