On Sunday, southwest and westerly wind gusts will peak from 50 to around 60 mph over a larger portion of the area with continued very low humidity. In addition, lightning activity across northern New mexico on Sunday will occur with little wetting precipitation, increasing the chances for new fire ignitions. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AREA AND TIMING...Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124), West Central Mountains, Basin, and Range (Zones 105 and 109) Sunday from noon to 8 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west at 25 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
