The avalanche danger is HIGH * WHERE...The Lionhead area near West Yellowstone. * WHEN...In effect from Thursday 05:30 AM MST to Friday 05:30 AM MST. * IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall over the last 5 days combined with strong winds has overloaded many slopes. You can easily trigger bone breaking avalanches that may bury you 6 feet deep. * PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Avoid being on or underneath any slope steeper than 30 degrees.
