What: Significant snowfall with accumulations of 15 to 20 cm is expected today, followed by an additional 20 cm on Monday. Where: North Coast – Inland sections including Stewart. When: This morning through Monday night. Additional information: A series of Pacific frontal systems will impact the BC North Coast through the first half of this week. This will result in a prolonged period of snowfall over North Coast inland northern sections, including Stewart. The first front passing through early morning will bring heavy snow. Snow will ease late this morning as the system passes, with total accumulations of 10 to 20 cm by Monday morning. A second, moisture laden Pacific front is forecast to affect the area on Monday. Snow will become heavy again Monday morning and persist through the evening, bringing an additional 20 cm of snowfall. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Local utility outages are possible. Property or tree damage is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
