For the High Rip Current Risk, north and east facing reefs. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 AM ChST Tuesday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A pulse of northerly swell and a shear line producing significant northeast swell continue to build surf along north and east facing reefs. Hazardous levels of 9 feet for north facing reefs and dangerous rip currents along north and east facing reefs are expected through late tonight. Then the shear line is anticipated to weaken and the northerly swell begins to diminish Tuesday. A high risk for rip currents is expected to linger for east facing through Tuesday afternoon as easterly swell remains elevated.

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
