The combination of dry and windy conditions this afternoon into this evening will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread across the Central Ridge and Valley Region of Pennsylvania, along with the Middle and Lower Susquehanna Valley. Minimum relative humidity values this afternoon will range from 35 to 45 percent, accompanied by wind gusts from the southwest to west that will top 45 mph at times. Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly. For more information about wildfire danger and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website at http://dcnr.pa.gov/Communities/Wildfire.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
