Significant snowfall is expected. Total snowfall: 15 to 20 cm, possibly 25 to 35 cm over the Highlands. Time span: until this afternoon, except Friday morning over Highlands. Remarks: Snow will taper off through the day across most of Cape Breton. Heavier snow is expected to reintensify over the Cape Breton Highlands tonight and continue into Friday morning. Strong northwesterly winds will also develop this evening, which could lead to reduced visibilities in blowing snow. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to snowfall accumulations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #NSStorm. For more information about the alerting program, please visit: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/environment/weather/severeweather/weather-alerts/colour-coded-alerts.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
