Hazardous winter conditions continue. Total snowfall: Near 25 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Maximum wind gusts: northeasterly 70 to 80 km/h. Time span: this morning, gradually easing this afternoon. Remarks: Strong winds accompanying the snow will reduce visibility at times in blowing snow. Localized bands may produce higher snowfall totals over some areas. ### Travel will likely be challenging. Local utility outages are likely. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #NSStorm. For more information about the alerting program, please visit: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/environment/weather/severeweather/weather-alerts/colour-coded-alerts.

The times presented here are based upon the solunar theory, which is the idea that the movements of fish and other animals are affected by the location of the sun and moon. The major periods are believed to be the times of the greatest animal activity and occur when the moon is directly overhead or underfoot (lunar transits). The minor periods also see increased activity and occur when the moon is rising or setting. The strongest activity occurs during full or new moons, and the weakest during quarter or three quarter moons. This is indicated by the Action Rating.
